We incorporated the HATS Headquarters® into our after-school programming based in a Section 8 Housing Project. There are 200 youth aged between 7 and 15 and we do have some gang  activity.  In ten months, 120 youth served 12,000 hours all earning their President’s Volunteer Service Award.  We had mothers, fathers, grandparents, businesses, and local church volunteers coming to participate. What this tells us is this is a project based on values and the transferring of values such as hope, kindness, inclusion, and empathy brings us all to the table.
